Don't forget those numbers reflect the number of vehicles taxed/SORN. Projects get started/completed all the time, which skews the data.

Well I tried to see how many of miss Rusty's Metro variant, the Mosaic, were left and it's not even listed, despite being recorded by the DVLA as an Austin Metro Mosaic. I know there weren't many (it's basically a 998cc City with factory sunroof and mosaic stickers, trim, and steering wheel badge) but nevertheless it is a distint variant and listed by DVLA.

Gilbern and Jowett are two of the makes that don't appear on the DVLA vehicle licensing site, I think on the original document they are listed as Other.

There are some strange stats though.

Apparently people have imported 14 x Renault 14L's since the nineties. A trim level which was never available in this country and I believe very rare in Europe, I have never even seen one for sale in France!!

This info is from the DFT but doesn't include Sorn figures or the CC of the cars. Our new info is more comprehensive, but it remains a great resource.

Once you've looked up the car, if you click on it it will take you to more info including SORN.

Mind you it's not detailed enough to know how many Manta A series are left which is something I'd like to know .

We have been having fun with DVLA data too. There's a lot of dirty data out there and it is very difficult to break it down. This site, I think, is using the DoT data. It's good as far as it goes, but like the DVLA data which we've got, it isn't comprehensive or complete.

.........and if they're the two door ones I cycled past a traders yard last night with a nice tidy maroon one in, so that leaves only four to find
