Cutting glass?

#1 Post by sierra3dr »

Hello fellow enthusiasts. A good while back I smashed the rear side window on my 3dr shell Sierra  getting another will be difficult as they are rare. It has crossed my mind to cut out the needed shape from a minibus side window. Anyone had the experience of cutting glass?
Thanks
Paul

I assume this is a flat glass. If you can supply a template a glass company should be able to supply one for you. I've had a lot lot made for yank trucks that came over with bullet holes in the glass.
Currently over 35 years worth of fixing 35 boxes.
Hoping to reach 65 years worth of fixing 65 boxes.

You can't cut toughened glass. The glass company will cut it from normal glass and send it away to be toughened.
