tax exempt?

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

tax exempt?

my brother has an l reg vanden plas princess which was registered 2months after the new cut off. am i right in thinking that its the build date & if so how do we find out..

It is the build date and you need one of these:

I am not sure where else they can be purchased from but a google for a heritage certificate may reveal other suppliers.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Normally a letter from the owners club will suffice.
Worked for me with a Hillman imp once.

If it's an L reg then it will have been registered between 1/8/72 and 31/7/73. The new cut-off date is 1/1/74 so all L reg and a few M reg will be eligible.

its an l reg & when he tried he wasn't successful.. :? ill give him a ring tonight & let you know what happens..

The new date doesn't take effect until next April 1st, so that's probably why he wasn't successful.
