found the source of the odd noise on the 206... Replaced the knackered one with a slightly less knackered one from a scrappy... I'll be ordering a new one shortly

Now I have found the source of the noise the car has decided to play silly buggers.. it's losing power juddering and farting about.. when I rev it it picks up and runs ok..
Visit to the local mechanic and a couple of codes
Po170
Po130
I changed the plugs as they are at least 5 years old.. still playing up so a dose of injector cleaner seemed to help for a while so I changed the coil pack.. still no difference.. when the car was on the ramp we spotted a couple of holes in the exhaust where the downpipe/cat meets the next section so that's coming off today and I'll get the mig out.. I will have fun disconnecting the sensor as the plug has been cut off and connected with heat shrink etc

New parts fitted, maf? And a motor on the butterfly valve on the carb/air intake.. down to po170 code now.. ordered a flywheel sensor and checked the top lambda? Sensor check, someone fitted new ones 4 years ago... Cut off the plug and joined the cables with heat shrink... Replaced the sensor and soldered the joints.. still showing the po170 code so I'll replace the other one tomorrow and see if that works....

When I fitted a universal lambda to my Alfa 156 the instructions explicitly said NOT to solder the wires .. and keep them same length

The wires were moving around in the wrap thingy, the new sensor came fitted with a plug and no mention of how to fit ... It's soldered now
