If you count each trumpet as a fault then there were 6 not seated properly / at all. If you look at the first pic you can see wear marks on them where they have been vibrating against each other.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

No idea, they are supposed to require heat to insert / remove them rather than a gentle tug. I have added a replacement plenum chamber to my autojumble hunting list. hopefully I find one for not very much money.

Is it a 3.9? Shame if it is because I gave away a plenum chamber last yr!

It is sort of a 4.2. well, the plenum chamber is anyway.
The only difference I think is the length of the trumpets so you can fit a 3.9 base plate to a 4.2 but not the other way round. It would result in a small reduction in torque.
It's a shame I missed out on yours as I would have fitted it as a temporary measure until the correct 4.2 version came up.
I'll pull the top off again in a few hundred miles and see if the epoxy is holding or if I have a more serious problem.
Hopefully I will have a box of bits to fit this weekend which will help the situation.
I'm going to pull the ECU on Saturday and give all the contacts a good clean, the same with the contacts in the multi-plug on the loom.
For some strange reason, the 4.2 ECU seems to sell for £70-£100 on ebay where as I can get one for a 3.9 for £30. Some people seem to think that fitting the wrong ECU to their 3.9 will give them more grunt :S
I'm against the idea of spending £400 to have a mapped chip fitted as I strongly suspect it won't make all that much difference when I spend most of the time running on LPG. (plus £400 is a lot of money to spend on an eeprom!)

More fun and games today.
I pulled my sump off and found that the bolts for my oil pickup pipe were loose. While I was in there, I checked a couple of main and big end bearings, they are all good. Bolts back in with some locktite, sump back on new oil filter and fresh 10w40. same problem.
This car is cursed
oh, and there is some water in my drivers side footwell so I need to find where that is coming from too.
Ebay is providing me with a cheap oil pressure gauge so I can see if there is actually a problem or if there is something strange and electrical going on.
