breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Dead right, too dull, so bland, you know full well that there's some seriously interesting, to say nothing of the price, RV's at the Revival. Now if you really want to float my boat.

Trying make out what make it is - It's certainly one of the rarer ones with a radiator of that shape so I would guess at either Crossley or maybe Thorneycroft ? - I also once owned a 1935 Leyland TS7 single decker - it was complete but required a complete restoration - I was quite young in those days and there was no way I could afford to see it through - the original bus company owner eventually aquired it and fully restored it - then used it for special event hire - so mission achieved nonetheless - it got saved & restored has it was due to go for scrap before I obtained it.

It is a lot, especially as it's supposed to be Teal Blue rather than that modern metallic finish. I wouldn't be too sure of the test either, it's had just the one fail, but the tester wrote "indicators flashing at less than 60 times per minute.." So a: the guy doesn't know that he's allowed to test at slightly above idle speed in that case and b: "less" than 60? Bollocks! 60 is a clearly defined quantity, therefore less than is meaningless as that only applies to undefined quantities such as common sense, etc. Technically, a test can be declared void when such howling great terminological mistakes are present, which is why there's a comms studies module in every engineering course. The bloke should know better! I blame America.

Yes, there's no car quite like these things and that one does seem straight enough.
