breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Looks like we missed that one. Did you buy it? :P I can see that fitting in well with French driving habits though it did surprise me that the V8 has less power than, and exactly the same amount of torque as a modern 1.6 litre Turbo Diesel VAG product. The old LR's exhaust is probably less polluting though.
Imagine taking it to Kwik-Phit, heads would explode!

Funny you should mention that thing, Rich. Today, I saw a car from that same specialist importer's stock; a Toyota Celsior     - JDM name for what we know better as the big, spectacularly well built Lexus LS400 or LS430. I'm frequently found rummaging through the company's website looking at rust-free old Japanese tin with all sorts of gadgets and exotic names. Some day, I may just splash out on something daft like that to keep the daily Toyota company and to reduce the guilt-inducing number of miles I'm adding to her  its low original mileage. I do like the back view of the Mitsuoka and I'm sure it will work well and that it can be relied upon, but that face! Oh dear, a human being whose face was so at odds with the rest of their characteristics would have to be massively talented to overcome such weird looks.. So would the car, IMHO, so unless it can answer the doorbell, run me a bath and keep me entertained with knock knock jokes during the long nights when the nearside of the bed is empty, then it can jog on by..

i am sure such a fine car could fulfill your every wish!

car reserves the the right to ignore any and all wishes he finds uncomfortable, overly tedious, or just too difficult.
By no means is the promise of your wish fulfilled legally binding.

Hmm, cars are never that complicated. Are they? Women, on the other hand...

when a car gives me trouble i can hit it with a hammer or lock it in the garage for 6 months till i feel up to it... you try that with your missus & you will never hear the last of it

Not unless I mistakenly leave the garage door unlocked after having it open so that I could change her straw and fill her feed bucket..
I'd never hit anyone with a hammer though, blood spatter on the ball end can make the instrument inaccurate and harder to use!
