Here's the place to chat about all things classic. Also includes a feedback forum where you can communicate directly with the editorial team - don't hold back, they'd love to know what they're doing right (or wrong of course!)
I've tweaked a setting and tested it with opera and ie11.
Let me know if it's still misbehaving.

That works. Even with Safari. This is brilliant, I'm almost sure that the same fix took several days to address on that earlier occasion, yet now you can tweak the forum in a matter of minutes.
Rich, if you're trying to break the new, better, quicker (noticeably so) forum, you'll need to try harder!

Don't challenge him John. Rich has already gathered supplies of red wine, cheese and garlic sufficient to keep him fuelled up and trying to break the internet for days without a break.

It depends how the link has been written in to the forum as to how it behaves.
If you just type a domain eg http://www.google.com phpbb will detect that and change the code to automatically open a new tab.
If you use bbcode to enter a url eg www.google.com then it will follow the instructions within the code. I can probably edit that so will have a look and see what can be done.

Links to open in a new window? He asked hopefully, expecting the answer "No".
P45.
Links opened in new tabs on the old forum and I just checked; same here (as long as you remember to use the right hand mouse button/two fingers on the touchpad of a device that uses one of these/hold the link on Android devices so that a drop menu opens with the "open in new tab" option, etc.).

It's even easier than that, Terry fixed it earlier as the forum wasn't keeping login details from the sign in screen, so now there's no ticking boxes required after the first time.
He's a handy sort of bloke, our Terry!
