tablets

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Expansys are my supplier of choice for gadgets I buy for myself

£3 cheaper than PC World so I would say that is a fair price

hudl screens are known for cracking in the middle of the night. also no spares are available....not anywhere not even Chinese knockoffs.

Nexus would be my first choice then Galaxy, unless i could afford an iPad.

Dammit fellas, I'm now thinking that maybe I too need one of these skinny computers with no keyboard! :o OK, so far we've read that Tesco's offering is poor for spares support, but unlike the O/P, who's a builder and therefore a multi millionaire, :P I'm as tight as a donkey's pocket and have been looking at this.

Tablet people, is this too good to be true or a genuine bargain? I'm not concerned about the fact that its Windows partition speaks only Chinese as I'm told by the vendor that it's easy to get rid of that either by upgrading to 10 for free and changing the language at that time or, as I'd do with a new laptop, installing Mint, Debian or Ubuntu in its place.
It even comes with a proper keyboard that attaches somehow, so what's not to like? Tell me please.

It's an atom so about as much use as a chocolate teapot when it comes to running Windows. It will take slow to a whole new level.
From an android point of view it's OK but for that money I'd buy a Samsung and a Bluetooth keyboard.

You couldn't be worse than me. When we got our first computer, I tried searching for retro events.
We like swing-jive and the Big-Band era. I typed swing into the search box. Are you ahead of me?
There was no warning, I got a screen full of fornicating swingers. Wife walks into the room, sees my utter
embarrassment, looks at the screen at a 45 degree angle and said: "See, I told you that position was possible!"
