Re: Failed inventions
Ooh! Bond 875 or Ranger (can't say without seeing its back end, I expect that Clive microcar boy will tell us) by the woman on the floating scooter.
I note that she already has on her costume.
And some of thae bike ideas are less eccentric than many that made it up to production. Apart from the reverse sidecar, which is utterly wrong.

Re: Failed inventions
Err I had that hair dryer attachment in pic 2/11
topgear did a makeshift one of 3/11 amd it's the same as 11/11 with the board down.
Guy martin used 4/11 as inspiration on breaking the tandem land speed record.
early form of skype 5/11
apart from aerodynamics, it looks like it was designed sol the passenger couldn't nag/distract the driver,
or the passenger is where the pipes etc where a mobile plumber could store stuff easily in that side car 6/11
aren't there those persona; subs in the med and in warm water holiday desternations? 8/11
They still make the gyrocopter 10/11
the ampiscooter, could be made smaller these days as more modern materiels available, but probably the insperation for the water scooter that bond used (can't remember what film) 11/11

Re: Failed inventions
I thought about Guy Martin's "tandem" but that had three wheels and a bodyshell, so wasn't just as crazy as the one on that Yahoo link.

Re: Failed inventions
There are some comical attempts at flying cars:

My brother was involved in number 6. The reason stated in the article for failure isn't entirely correct.
The car was supplied with a blown head gasket and it struggled to get up enough speed plus one of the engineering students removed too much metal from structural areas making it unsafe to continue with.

Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.

I always find the discussion threads the best bit of this sort of random page. Imagine my delight when I spotted this entry:
YOU ARE THE FORGIVENESS OF MAKING BATHTUB ENERGY SQUIRREL. PEACE ROLLERSKATE BLESSINGS.
Hmm, if nobody else grabs it in the mean time, that may find itself migrating into my signature strip on the radio forum.
