BW 35 Autobox help needed

#1 Post by johnnyanglia »

Hi, I have fitted to my Mk2 Zodiac a brand new BW35(replacing the original DG150M). I filled it up a year and a half ago with ATF which contained Dexron. The car has been driven less than 100 yards since the box was changed. Now that the engine is running smoothly I tried to drive it only to discover that it would barely crawl even with high revs. I have since discovered that I am using incorrect ATF fluid(It should be something like Castrol TQF or Comma AQF). I would now like to drain the box but I cannot see a drain plug and there will be fluid in the torque convertor. Can anyone tell me how to drain the box ? I was thinking of removing the filler tube and using a hand operated suction pump to withdraw the fluid. Would this work ? or does anyone have any other suggestions ? Also could someone tell me if I have possibly damaged the box by using the wrong fluid(even though it has done next to no miles)?, Thanks in advance, Johnny.
