Had an hour in the garage tonight, managed to Dinitrol the front end inc the chassis rail internals and suspension etc.
Fed the radio ariel through the bulkhead and plugged it into the radio...nothing...so i guess the earthing isnt good enough, it will be checked out over the weekend.
Need to turn the car round tomorrow and jack the rear up so i can do the pinion oil seal and locate the rear grease points ready for greasing up.
I can then Dinitrol the rear half and basically thats it!
Still undecided whether to strip out the 70's pye radio cassette player in favour of the Sony removable set I have..I think it will be nice to have FM radio available?

After a bit of thought, I decided that if I am to use and enjoy the singer I would need a decent radio, so....
A trip to maplins and I had got a jack plug for the radio speaker connection.
Stripped out the Pye cassette player and the 8 track player (terrible sound) and refitted the ash tray as it would have been originally

Tidied up a bit of wiring and soldered in the jack plug to the speaker wires.
Decided on the location for the Sony radio and started to fit it..all went well and the job was quite a pleasant task.
The result is fantastic, great sounding FM radio and a nice looking period piece that is also a fairly rare fitment?
Just need to source a key for the lock on it, any ideas?

For those of you who havnt seen these type of radio sets, they can be taken out of the car and used as a stand alone radio using the internal batteries and built in ariel.

Last night I finished the dinitrol to the front half so tomorrow I will start the rear half

That looks right at home there, and very period. Call me modernist, but I fail to see why anyone would persevere with just a MW/LW set seeing as nothing worth listening to is broadcast on those frequencies any more.

That was my reasoning. The sound is really good and as a plus, the speakers fitted previously as part of the 8 track fitting were radiomobile so quite decent.

With a car that orange, I expect you to be more of a Radio 1 man ;)
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.
