breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I like these Auto Union things, they look as though their designer saw a MK1 Cortina from every angle apart from behind, at a distance from a moving train and built a replica from memory, but in a good way! :D

And could it be? Is it? Yay! An actual breakdown truck.

What's the tall white thing that looks like a Taxi?
Thanks also for posting the hearse piccie. My new boss runs one as her daily transport and she's hearse mad so that should give her something to smile about. :)

Just take a leaf out of a certain Volvo owners book and buy it anyway. they are cheap to insure so why not ;)

That Lancia looks both solid & original enough - if its complete its worth every bean of 2,500 Euros asking price
1937 Jowett 8 - Project - in less pieces than the Jupiter
1943 Jowett Stationary Engine
1952 Jowett Jupiter - In lots of peices http://Jowett.org/
1952 Jowett Javelin - Largely original
1973 Rover P6 V8 - Original / 22,000 miles

 The first semi-auto Bug I've seen since I parted with mine years ago that looks halfway decent and it's minus an engine! Dammit that would have been worth going after if a) it had been a 1500 and b) the vendor still had its flex plate and torque converter.

My 1500 with that 2 speed (plus crawler) semi auto was ultra slow as the converter was far too big for the engine but it would pull away from rest in 2nd and I don't remember ever using the crawler gear that was allegedly in there somewhere. Happy times indeed, ISTR that I swapped my autobug for one of my R12 Breaks. :(
