i did once blow the fuses in a mains transformer up a telegraph pole.... in my defence i was young & stupid & doing only what the client asked :lol:

update on the truck.. a mate gave me a jump start lights etc work ok a 12 mile trip home & left it running for 10 minutes checked the out put of the alternator ok switched off the engine & it wont re start.. checked the batteries & its showing a full charge.. :?

im going to re start it & get it in the barn for a look, as the batteries are linked could 1 have died & thats what is showing a charge? only 1 problem ill have to disconnect the batteries to charge/check them & that will mean i lose the radio code...

If it starts with a jump but not by itself it could still be a weak battery, put your meter across the battery and see what the voltage drops to when you try and crank it.
I would also check the engine earth, bung a jump lead between the block and battery negative terminal, see if that makes it turn over on the key, after that I would use another jump lead between the battery positive and the solenoid and have another go. if that doesn't work then (this will make a very large spark) bypass the solenoid with a jump lead and see if it turns over then.

you can get a cheapo multi-meter for less than a fiver you cheapskate! ;)

my battery tester is showing 12.5 volts on each battery.. im getting the starter off as its squealing anyway.. i did have a meter once but it blew up :oops:
