Well all this sunshine certainly brought a few out of the woodwork.

Where do I start. Went to VSCC Shelsley, so rather a lot :!: On the way back, we passed through Bromyard, where there had been a Steam Rally and so that too had drawn in some classic cars (Austin 7 Ruby Morris Minors, Triumph Stag). We we followed back to Hereford by a tidy looking Hillman Minx and I'm always happy to have a classic driver behind, rather than a classic idiot in an ***i  :!: We were in the V 8.

Car 72 (Sunbeam) was pictured at the startline of Shelsley in 1913 and a recreation of the photo was done yesterday. I snapped the car just after it exitted the "Kennel" bend. The Vauxhall 30/98 design is 100 years old this year and they finished a week long commemeration of this at Shelsley. What would I have liked to take away :?: Being sensible (And also not meaning something I could sell and retire on the proceeds), I rather liked the Austin 7 Nippy, that I snapped on the return run down the hill or the rather nice Morgan 4/4 Coupe.

For shear spectacle, the Bentley Napier has to win the day. 24 litres, 600bhp and 1200 Ibs foot :!: Enjoy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5F8cwEMDzQ. I f you like what you see, have a look at http://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events, for events near you :!:

I am cautiously hoping that the Winter of 2006 - 2013, is finally over :D :!:

I like the trousered exhaust manifold on the Vauxhall, I'm assuming that it is a modern upgrade? Lovely old thing though, the car.

I'm not sure on the 30/98 manifold....when I next see any, I'll have a look and ask. If they were originally cast, cracking may have become an issue by now (So they'd all have them), though given that they didn't make many, perhaps, it never justified making patterns for casting. Lovely car and you wonder what would have happened had they not got into trouble and been taken over by GM (Or what foreign firm would have bought them, as happened to Rolls Royce).

As to the Bentley, I think you need to be on good terms, with the almighty, before you get in it :!: There were noisier cars there, in terms of decibels but it certainly has a mighty sound.

 The trick there would be to count the number of posts in one page and wait while the current page is one shy of that number before you post! ;)
I saw an absolutely stunning Datsun Violet today in Kelso, whose cobbled roads were giving its trap springs a good work out.
Anyone know of the car? No photo as we were both moving but it was the saloon (140?), was a 77/78 S suffix car and was finished in a metallic brown. Mmm, nice!
