V6 into a RHD Chrysler Neon mk1

Post pictures and stories about your cars both present and past. Also post up "blogs" on your restoration projects - the more pictures the better! Note: blog-type threads often get few replies, but are often read by many members, and provide interest and motivation to other enthusiasts so don't be disappointed if you don't get many replies.

I can't drink as much as I used too now I'm type one diabetic!
In fact it might be one table spoon of whatever to a tumbler full of
lemonade :evil:

What got me thinking of doing something along the fender skirt idea
originally popped into my noggin, was at a car show and there was
an immaculate Vauxhall Carlton.

But realising that just a straight line across wouldn't look quite right I
wend out with the cardboard a pair of siccors and tape.

After reading a couple of these threads and looking at old jags etc

And then there is this just because it's modern it doesn't need to look
like it!

Well you get the idea, I was bored and my imagination kind of ran with
it, and it snowballed :lol:

The difference being that the Carlton and Jaguar were designed to have it whereas on the Neon it will just look wanky

Whether or not I fit fender skirts to the car I think it would be best to
level the old girl out so she doesn't look like she has her bum in the air!!

I dug the box containing the coil over kit from the boot of the neon to
see what info was in the box on them!
No info in the box but using the label "51-1127 Neon 2000 up"
A little research on the internet
Specifications
HKR 51-1127 auto parts coilover springs
1.Colorful Springs
2.Adjustment from 0"-4"
3.Increased load bearing capacity2

* Increased load bearing capacity
* Lighter weight
* More suspension travel
* Higher spring power available
* Shorter overall spring length
* Increased clearance of wheel to the spring
Their stock photo is acurate but I can't find the bag of rubber grommets!

http://www.tradezz.com/buy_2312730_coil ... g-kits.htm

And since there was no installation instructions a little search

http://ksportusa.com/support-coilover-systems/

But the the best "how too!" I found was this one straight forward and
nice clear pictures too

http://www.robietherobot.com/Storm/coil ... lation.htm

Also I have bought some exhaust connectors tailor made to what length I
need to cover the gap after cutting out the dodgy bend. I managed to
brake all the hack saw blades I had trying to trim the pipe.

I have ordered some dremel cutting disks which I have used in the bast and
will cut the exhaust pipe more easily than using a hack saw or attempting to
get the grinder in!! (they have not arrived yet)

Rain is forecast again!

Seriously man, sort the cosmetics once the car is running and working properly. :)

John I'm having a little problem with my sight at the moment where
my colour blindness sometimes gets worse, been told it will pass.
It is somehow connected to an infection I have in a cut in my hand
done when chopping veg for the Sunday dinner.

So hence I have stayed off the wire for fear of Fecking it up big time!
The cars brakes are all seized on and I do need to have that corners
hub apart for sorting out the brakes as inboard drum brakes (who ever
thought they were a good idea needs to be shot!)

Also found a perished suspension bushing which needs to be replaced
for the mot. So I will be getting that lot sorted and doing the strut
spring at the same time so it won't stress the shock out more than it
already has been without it being used with the WRONG spring on.

John I have all the joys of a weaken immune system, I have had that
cut covered up and cleaned with tcp. There is another cut from being
under the car which ISN'T infected.

But I digress I have being trying to do finish off the exhaust recently
while I can when the inspection pit is not flooded, which is why I need
to get the car totally off the pit to properly clear the pit out of all the
garden waste/debris that has been ether blown or thrown in there out
of the way.

I do not want the rodents attracted by such hiding places only then to
move onto hiding the car!

Just been and pocked my head under the rear of the car into the pit!
With the rain last night and the day before the pit is still got water in it
as it is taking too long to soak away.

I will now have to wait till it has emptied before finishing the exhaust &
sorting out that corner of the car :cry:

The dremmel cutting disks arrived so I thought it best to get cracking on
the old girl and at least get something finished off before the weather
changes again.

So the Nissan 350Z exhaust back with modified inlet and out let pipes is
finally fitted on the car!

Hopefully the only thing left to fit on the exhaust is the lambda sensor
after the cat on the down pipe.

I have pushed myself getting the back box on, so tomorrow I will not do
anything on the car. Especially as there is a Hot rod and custom car show
and cruise on locally.

So you will be getting those photos posted in a perpetrate thread
tomorrow night hopefully.
