I must agree - out of everywhere I have lived / visited in the world 'London' is the biggest dump you can come across - never have I known such ignorant & arrogant human beings and the driving is something else from another planet !!id avoid that London if i could, i mean who would really want to go there on purpose??

£ 500 000,
move to France mate you could buy half the country with that
ok the french talk funny & drive on the wrong side of the road but you soon get used to it & its a lot sunnier that the uk

Re: breakdown truck
£500k in rural Northumberland, Berwickshire or Roxburghshire would get you a fair sized smallholding with as many buildings as one person could hope to fill with old motors in their lifetime.
OK so the winters are potentially cold but summers are as warm as anywhere else and it doesn't get dark at the height of summer, which is handy for the all night beach parties.
In spite of the ill-informed and bigoted view taken by some Daily Mail-reading imbeciles that the UK is "the world's dustbin" and in spite of the fact that France is a very nice place with much going for it, there are good places nearer to home.
Sadly, the Daf looks likely to be heading to the RoI via Essex, but it will be in safe hands if that happens.

I went to a property auction last week, http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for ... 43076.html sold for £337,000. House, outbuildings and some land. (it does not include the chapel although C of E are open to offers as a separate purchase).

Re: breakdown truck
i though people couldnt afford houses in the uk any more..
Re: breakdown truck
I didn't say that I bought it. I was there with the other half who was buying 30 acres which touch the family farm.
All the houses sold bar one and all the land bar one 60 and one 80 acre packages that were not accessible without using someone else's drive.
The economy is slow but not stopped yet.
