Eastwood dual soda blaster ?. Worth it
Eastwood dual soda blaster ?. Worth it
Hello, near the end of my beetle restoration for my wife. I have been looking at the idea of the soda blaster the Eastwoods one looks good. The cost would be around just under £500 with soda .
I plan to use it on the whole car, prep it for a bare metal respray etc. I looked at the video of it looks good and will save me time and money.
Question has anyone bought one on here ?. I would like some feedback on it please.

£500?????
I buy complete cars for less than that, then go for a sausage soda.
It's a lot of money but I can see how the DIY aspect would save you a lot of labour costs. You can also sell it afterwards and recoup most of the cost.

have you thought about getting a quote from a professional blasting firm?
Re: Eastwood dual soda blaster ?. Worth it
They have eastwood company in the UK?
I think that there's a smaller one that can be bought for less then $300 US. Pretty good value if you want to strip a whole car. I was thinking about getting one for when I start on my 71 280SL. A professional blast company would charge about $800 to strip one.
The nice thing about soda blasting is that it does not damage chrome or glass and it washes away when it rains.

Ive got one and I dont rate it.
The grit blaster is good but the soda blaster isnt, the soda is expensive and needs to be bone dry when stored to prevent clogging.
I have a 60 cfm 450 litre compressor and it empties that fairly quickly.
The commercial shows a guy blasting paint off with a large spread from the nozzle, the reality is a lot more narrower

Harbor freight sells a smaller one for about $150.
http://www.harborfreight.com/40-lb-port ... 67625.html
Usually there is a special that takes it down to about $120.
