The aluminium foil sills were a first, I have seen lots made of filler in the past but never foil.
Did the owner really drive away when having a test without coming back to say thank you?
is that next week's one?Phil P wrote:Wait till you see the car with new pieces 'pop' rivetted in and the B post could be pushed in and out.![]()
I enjoyed watching this one. I'd have preferred to see how Fuzz tackled the welding rather than prep'ing the panels for paint, but that's only because I have a similarly rusty P6 undergoing resto at home. Was there much else to do with the mechanicals other than the engine?Phil P wrote:Did you like the Rover P6B? The ultimate rust bucket! The self adhesive patches were something else.
Just watched it on youtube. Should of sold it to the Classic Car Rescue chaps, they would have got it on the roadhobby wrote:Just watched the Anglia one...
I agree to a certain degree, but I think the new owner came across as having a mature head.hobby wrote:If the chat was anything to go by the engine sounded like a virtual full race job that was (is?) found in short circuit Hot Rods developing over 150bhp... Hardly the wisest thing for a beginner on the roads to drive...
Yes of course, without a doubt. In the filming, the rot was enough to demic the Anglia. I was just making mockery of the tv series Classic Car Rescue, were they would fill the rot in with bodyfiller. Probably not, just exaggeratingPhil P wrote:I think Sierra that you should have seen the Anglia shell in the flesh. I think you would have had a totally differant thought if you had. It was a death trap and a crusher is the best place for it. If it could have been repaired it would have been. Even the owner agreed it was too far gone to save. The 'A' post finished at the bottom of the windscreen and was not connected to the bulkhead. It would have meant cutting the shell into pieces to get to it.
Quick edit there.sierra3dr wrote:I was just making mockery of the tv series Classic Car Rescue, were they would fill the rot in with screwed up newspaper and paint over it.
