Hi again all.
I have always had,and used, classic cars as my daily drivers since 1977.
Have had many varied cars between 77 and 87,Morris 1000, mini, ford, rover,austin,morris,jag,bedford CA,then a 1972, 4.2L Daimler Sov S1 for 3 yrs,
and a 1975 Dolly Sprint for about 11 yrs up to the current Rover P6V8.
I do all my own work on them, apart from machine shop work, and painting.
I also do a bit of wheeling and dealing with new old stock and good s/h classic car spares on Ebay!!
Mainly for the P6 and TR6,but occasionally I get some really nice universal fit period extras!!
My current fleet consist of my daily driver of the last 10yrs.
Rover P6V8 auto,1971 white/huntsman/leather/webasto/ 14" rostyles.
My recently bought,"06" and restored "07" 1970 TR6pi.
We were on the cover of CM Oct09.
An original UK 150bhp Pi car.
Fully nut and bolt restored in 1982-1985 and has only done 16k miles in 25 yrs,It just needed a fresh coat of paint and a damned good clean when I snapped it up!!
A car for fun, shows and sunny days.
And I have just aquired this Rover P6 2000 auto,1970.
A very early S2 one family owned,65k miles.
It had been locked away,"DRY" for 17 yrs since being sympathetically restored by it previous owner.
It is now all up and running and it will be my daily driver while I give the V8 a bit of TLC,ie a repanel and repaint, refurbish the seats and recover roof and sunroof.
I turned 50 last year, and for a very special birthday treat I built myself a double garage with a loft, and as an extra treat got a hardly used 4 post ramp for 1/2 the new price.
Yes,,youve guessed it I am not married!!

BLISS!!!!
Ive always had cramped singles,or none and had to lie on the ground!!
In fact the TR6 was restored in a very cramped single garage in just 3 months!

Ive just got another one for the fleet!!
You know what they say about classic cars, when you are looking for one?
That there is one out there with your name on it?
Well this was the case with this car,,,LITERALLY!!! so I just had to buy it!!

After buying the reg number ATR 6H,for my 1970 TR6,I hankered after a plate for the Rover.
I missed out on ROV 35B by about £75 quid at an auction, and had then decided it would be better to get a plate personal to me,so I can stick it on any future classic I own!!
Then,,,,,A MIRACLE HAPPENED!!!
I spotted this plate on sale with a dealer,I made an offer, only to be told,it was provisionally accepted, but the owner needs to get it MOT'd before it can proceed.
Eventually it was withdrawn from sale as the owner was elderly and couldnt get the MOT sorted.
I then started a search to find the owner of the plate, and had no idea what car it was on.
Then the dealer let slip about a 6v battery,so that gave me a clue to look for a VW.
The DVLA search proved it was a 1967 VW1500 and been off the road since 1988.
After about a year of searching and asking on the VW forums etc,and with the help of the DVLA forwarding a letter to the owner, I finally made contact with the owner to find it was a VW Karmann Ghia, and it was a rare RHD one as well!
Bought from Chelsea Cars on the Kings road London in June 1967.
A few Emails, pics and chats were made, and on the way back from Stoneleigh,I went to view it,as he was near Gaydon,a haggle commenced and I bought it.
Now with luck,I can get the mot sorted, give it a good clean up,transfer the plate, and sell it on to a budding young enthusiast.
Its all done and will be mot'd on sat 15th Jan,got to tax it,transfer the reg number to my P6V8,get its new reg number issued and updated docs sorted then its ready to be sold.

IF?? Anyone is interested in buying the VW Karmann Ghia PM me for more info.
The blue P6's reg number CON 591 is also currently up for sale, as will be the car round about easter.
Got to get down to 2 cars,,as I cant keep em all!
I've finally got the plate transferred to its new home on the P6V8,and a new plate issued for the VW Ghia.
"Now FOR SALE"
"Provisionally sold"
The old plate will eventually go back on the P6 when/if I sell it and PLK1E will stay with me for the rest of my life and go on whatever classic or car I have as my daily driver.
