Phew! I was beginning to withdraw from the regular ration of Javelin bodyshell rebuilding action. Glad to see all is still coming along nicely. :)

I had given the outrigger a quick look over before commencing the floor & wheelarch repairs and with exeption of a small section on the very end of it - passed it fit for service - obviously my quick look over - was too quick  - has I got in to it it was was obvious that it was hiding a nest of rust on the inner face
I originally planned to section it and fabricate a repair - but the deeper I dug the worse it got

In my haste I had already welded the repair section for the floor to the old outrigger  So now I had to carefully unpick the welds on the new panel

Keith sandblasted the area that is hidden when the outrigger is in place - I then sprayed the area with a zinc rich primer
With the primer dry - I sealed any seams that would be awkard to access once the new outrigger was fitted

Seam sealer was not used when the cars were first built in the early 50's - but it will not prevent me from using it this time around - I will go through and seal the rest of the shell once all the repairs are complete and the shell has been bare metaled
Trial fit on the outrigger which required a little bit of trimming / reshaping to ensure a good fit
