I remember helping my parents strip woodchip in one old house, only to find 3 consecutive layers of the f***ing stuff had been applied to the wall!

I think we gave up & plastered over it in the end...
…that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today.

Of course the problem then is that the Hall is much narrower - how many layers on each wall would it take to join in the middle :lol:

I think I'd get bored of hanging the paper before that ever happened! :lol:

If stripper wont touch the black then it is phoretic primer and should be abraded with 180 and given a coat of hi-build or any decent primer. Often we now get panels in matt black adn this should be washed off and the panel etched.

Etch can be used on most surfaces to promote adhesion.

I see by the date on my post , i sanded it off and it went up my nose on the 8th Oct... I've still got sinusitis ...Thick green snot still ... no longer with black powder added though :lol: :lol: ( Sorry to lower the tone of this wonderful site :oops: )
