Well, the Range went in to the garage this morning, i should get that back wednesday so i'll be able to have a go with it then, in the interim I have just (stupidly) purchased a 2005 Ford Focus 2.0 Ghia which looks like someone has removed all the paint from the sills so i'll have a go on that first. As the bits that need painting are out of sight i don't have to care as much if i do a less than perfect job. I'll be going to Halfrauds tomorrow for some rattle cans in (roughly) the right colour.
When the range is back i'll have a go on the rear arches and see what they look like.
Fingers crossed i can do a passable job.

Off subject I know but there is nothing stupid about a Focus 2.0
I had a 2.0 ghia Auto estate and that duratech engine is a honey, watch out for the dual mass crank pulley and the aux belt tensioner though, they seem to pack up early and make quite a racket when cold.
I put a new bearing in the tensioner pulley but it only improved things slightly and the crank pulley still complained on cold mornings. Got a later model with the 1.6 and although it's still below 30K miles, the same noise is there faintly on frosty starts
Radio on and widows shut really cures it

Nothing stupid about a focus, I have a MK1 2.0 which is still going like a train after 12 years. This focus on the other hand has 112k on the clock (but it was CHEAP!). it's the 2.0 TDCI which is quite nice but it does have some faults to fix like this paint issue and it has had a minor front end bump that creased a wing and blew a tyre so it is going in to have it's geomitry checked then new bits as required.

Returning to topic, if it stays nice i'll be having a go at the sills later today so will post some pics.

Can gun is not a bad device, not to everyones liking, But you can get them from the pound shop.

Good to see a rattle can respray.

When I get a minute i'll post some pics of my (ruined) attempt at painting my damage. Unfortunately what started out as a bright sunny day turned rainy and horible about 30 minutes after i had put some black paint on and it looks dull and a bit pitted now. Aren't english summers great!

I won't say that the can gun made it easier or harder to do, just different.
