Westie Rescue
Well done to all at PC for putting Bauer's money where your mouth is and rescuing the A105 estate. Having seen the car in the rot you've got a mammoth task ahead of you, but it looks like you're getting the right sort of help on board. I'll follow this one with interest and look forward to seeing it back at ACA when it's done.

And probably a lot harder to get parts for. I haven't seen one of those for years. Incidentally, the other one is not an A90 but an A95. The A90 was never made in Countryman form.admin wrote:Cheers for the encouragement. It's worse than the bloody Jag.

Earlpart will be rubbing their hands together at the thought of how much will probably be spent there over the following Months....
Inspirational stuff, just like the old days. (Anyone remember how rough XOE - the ex-Pat Moss rallying A40 - was before the PC team got their hands on that?)

I reckon the sixties Beetle cabrio back in the late 80's or early 90's was the most rotten car I've ever seen restored. I seem to remember staffers being sick in the hedge and muttering about resigning or emigrating. I would have weighed it in for scrap metal.
Maybe we need a poll for this - PC's hardest resto?

Re: Westie Rescue
Now there's a plan. The reason I named the A40 rather than the Bug was that everything for that VW could have been bought from specialists whereas, even though the A40 was only a 22 year old car at the time - the equivalent age of a great many cars we now consider modern and that are in daily use - parts for that wee Austin were hard to find even back then.
Though I seem to remember that the '67 Minor saloon was pretty rough too, it's still around, is still in perfect condition and has existed for longer as a restored car than it did as an original one (1967-1981 vs 1981-2011 and counting).
Yes please; a poll would be nice but can we mere mortals set one or is this an admin only thing?

Definitely agree with you. Really nice to see PC get in there and walk the walk so to speak, especially as a few other publications were moaning and grumbling about it but sitting on their hands.1900sr wrote:Well done to all at PC for putting Bauer's money where your mouth is and rescuing the A105 estate. Just a thought how about having a Kitty via paypal ( could gift so no charges to you) I'll certainly contribute a few quid.......after all it is for a worthy cause and all that.

Re: Westie Rescue
Good luck with this one chaps! Here's a couple of shots I took of it in 2006 when I think it first re-surfaced.
