Re: Soft top windows

Suggestion: first test the repair on a bit of the old window material.
second, only glue the repair to the remaining border of broken plastic. If it all goes wrong, your hood will be undamaged and you can still get it professionally repaired,
third, leave a border when cutting off the old window ...

Re: Axle stand warning

Mind you, it'd be equally tricky to weld near Sharon Corr.
From The Full Monty:
Well, I hope she dances better than she welds! I mean, look at that - her mix is all to cock!

I have heard that the best material to support a car is high density foam blocks. These are apparently used by HGV ...

Re: Dot proof paint.

Dot strips paint
Not if it is DOT 5 (otherwise usually known as Silicone brake fluid).

[I know that DOT 5 is a standard rather than a recipe, but I believe that only silicone fluid has been developed to meet the standard].

Re: kevin s's blog

Just finished reading the whole blog - very good!

Re: Nitrile / Latex Gloves

Not an answer to your request for more durable gloves, but for light duties I'm a fan of Spontex Vinyl Disposable Gloves. 13p per glove.

Ideal for painting etc., and they feel much nicer than latex gloves. For heavier use just change them ...

If the extension gets wrecked, I know Demon Tweeks sell replacements. They also sell a replacement for the steel collar, made in gorgeous billet alloy!

Re: Car SOS

Well, Phil and Fuzz, I've just discovered this programme and watched all the episodes in just 2 days, which probably says it all. At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I would like to see more in depth technical stuff and less false jeopardy. And before you insist there is none, how come ...
