That's fairly tragic but if you want to have a giggle at "custom" cars, visit www.barryboys.co.uk in your case rich search for "French" and recoil in horror.

Ah yes, I remember the 70s well and, although I subscribed to Hot Car, occasionally bought "Custard Cart". I do remember an FD Victor with such a back-like point in the middle of the bonnet that the car reminded me of a lectern in one of Father's churches - very scary!

I did make one mistake though and bought a CC when I was in hospital in Newcastle (it was more like a hostel than a hospital for us "foreigners" as locals could go as outpatients for radiotherapy). The mistake was leaving the magazine on my locker. The nurses found it and wrote rude words all over the girly pictures and my explanation that the cars were my only interest didn't pacify them! I had to agree with them though - the girls were totally unnecessary as the cars themselves would have sold the mag!

If only the really attractive lady in the radiotherapy department knew what I was making myself think about when she carefully repositioned a certain part of my anatomy every day (even if I had already done so myself!).

The glory days of home customisation are long gone as far as I'm concerned......nobody sells diffraction tape anymore.... :( Team that up with a 7ft whiplash clipped into the gutter and that's it, job done!
