The battery maintainer I have requires me to lift the bonnet and connect it to the battery terminals. Purely because I am lazy, is there an issue with adapting one to plug in to the cigarette lighter socket (which stays live with the ignition off).
I don't really want to cut it up the ctek charger I have as it was fairly expensive. Are there any recommendations for a reasonably priced one?

The CTEK charger I have has an adapter that enables it to plug into the lighter socket, I bought it as an accessory from Amazon.

I use 'Ring' maintainers on both my classics and my bmw bike. they can be used with a lighter socket adapter and are cheap enough to cut and chop about (las one i bought a month or so ago was under £40 delivered)
On the Singer and BMW bike I have hard wired it to the battery and it uses a plug and socket to connect.
