Of course I will have to pay the parking ticket before I can dispute it!
But after seeing the above photos, do you think I stand a chance of getting it refunded?

Is it a council ticket or a private one? How come the rest of the UK has been using the newer, credit card style badges since 2011 and you still have the old laminated card one? These older badges don't have the X/Y gender identifier or the holder's month and year of birth shewn on them so if the person who was issuing the tickets assumed that it was out of date, then you might have some comeback if it's a local authority ticket but if it's a privately issued one they're unlikely to be able to claw anything back from you and all they'll do is bombard you with fake debt collection agency letters for a few months then they'll get sick with that and bother someone else instead.
If they issued the ticket because of something to do with your parking, then when the car comes back as DLA404 VED class they'll cancel the process if you were parked legally, which includes double yellows where parking there doesn't obstruct emergency access but not red lines.
