It really throws your 'working on the cars' programme out the window.

Isn't this what happens when your lips get burned on the tailpipe of your Geep? ;)

I just had to google it. What happened for you to suffer with that?
Was it a workplace related injury or DIY car related?

It's when air leaks from your lung into your chest cavity, restricting the amount that that lung can inflate and causing part of it to collapse. If you've ever been winded, it's like that, but for days instead of a few minutes.

Fell on the stairs at home, landed on my back (heavily). The impact of which caused the tear.

'They' think the tear has closed, but i still have a 'bubble' of air in my chest cavity. Which should, in theory, eventually be absorbed. Takes a few days though. I have to be very alert to any increased pain, or decreased ability to breathe, or any increase in temperature (fever) as it could be an indicator of pneumonia. And no prolonged physical exertion, in case i open up the tear again.

So crawling around on and under cars is definitely on the NO list. I did rig up a new tarp tent over Freddie last night. Had to be done as the old one was ripped to shreds and letting water through. Wiped me out.

I don't 'do' ill, and i don't 'do' sitting around, so this is all a bit frustrating. :(

Mother had a fall that led, thanks to the doctors' poor diagnostic skills, to pneumonia. She was pretty close to the end when a third (emergency cover) doctor diagnosed the problem and rushed her into hospital!

pneumonia (at least in part) is what took my sister. So understandably nervous about getting it...
