I am trying to locate a set of new, old stock front brake pads to suit my '65 singer vogue mk3. (I want period friction material)
Does any1 have any Ferodo reference books that give the part number?

Kev, can you wait a week? Work has Ferodo, Mintex, Girling, APA, Swift, Lockheed, Motocraft, Mopar, Express/Unipart and pretty much every other book going back to the dawn of time.
Period linings may well be kinder to the discs but as no asbestos has been used in these since the 1970s, the youngest of the old stock could still have been badly stored and that invariably means that the bonding fails. There's no way to tell by looking but when this happens, the lining comes off the pads. Lucas Girling (India) still manufacture new asbestos-based linings for the the IDM only but some Aussie eBay sellers will supply to UK buyers, typical parcels service from there only takes six working days and pads should cost much the same to send as they would within the UK. I've taken to buying foaming kits from a supplier in Adelaide as they work out cheaper than the same things from the UK so I've done a bit of this. ;)

Any help would be good John
Having fitted new type pads to previous cars I find them lacking feel unless warmed up?
I am open to any suggestions of new type friction materials/suppliers (EBC?)

Just back from holiday where I was reading a book about the code breakers at Bletchley Park - did those numbers and letters come from a Yorkshire version of the Enigma machine :D
