I'm posting this via my mobile as the fiberoptic internet appears
to be off in my area.
My brother has checked locally (blackhall)and i have contacted
friends in Newcastle, and they are all having problems.
Anybody else having problems, and I have reported it to my isp

Re: internet problems!
I wish this mysterious temporary internet death episode had affected the network in my office today but sadly it didn't.
Fibreoptics were always so reliable in miniMETRO column stalks and dashboards.
As for the forum, I can't get on at all but every other site is fine so I was assuming that Terry had forgotten to feed the donkey again?

I can't say I have noticed any outage with the forum but I am not on it as much as I used to be. If you make a note of when you were unable to access it, I will speak with the host and see what is going on.

Re: internet problems!
OK, access has been variable on a few occasions recently. Yesterday the forum was as fast as f*** as any other site, same today, but on Friday and Saturday between 5pm (Friday) and 11pm (Saturday) it was hanging for ages when trying to post and also when trying to go back and click on "Active Topics" at the top of the page. On several occasions recently, forum pages have been opening in mobile phone style, circa 1998
, with neither graphics nor formatting working. Neither of these issues is uncommon but usually, navigating to somewhere else and returning after a few minutes sees everything behaving again.
Edited: It took eight minutes from clicking on "Submit" to this post appearing on the page. During these minutes I was able to visit a couple of other sites in another tab and in both cases, these sites were instant in their response to posts being made. The weird thing is that it hasn't actually timed out.

Bizarre,
It has been OK for me but I will raise a query and see what is happening.
Worst case scenario I do have another host lined up which was intended for another project but I can move the PC forum over easily enough.

Re: internet problems!
Tonight is the first night in ages where I have been able to use the site between 23:00 and about sometime much later (I have just realised it's after midnight!). Yesterday afternoon/early evening was pretty dire, which is not normal during the day, but today has been fine for me.
Mind you, I don't have the luxury of fibre-optics: Cumbria was supposed to be the second county to go over to the latest system (after Devon), but the locals dithered a lot before BT finally got the contract (I reckon that everyone else had got fed up with the delays)!

Re: internet problems!
I've found the forum very slow over the last few days. Fibre optics are extremely reliable normally, unless pikeys nick the cables, thinking they have some scrap value

Well the forum's fine tonight but my connection's crawling and I can't blame Theresa Stableford at BT seeing as I'm with Vodafone at home on a Plusnet exchange.
I don't expect parity but this is just plain rubbish:
