bit of a dilemma really
i need to decide on what to do with the rims on my singer.
they would have originally been a sort of old english white but i really really fancy having them body colour.
i see loads of classics done with them in body colour

whats your thoughts chaps? originality or indulgence and personal preference?

Body colour can look extremely good, but often a contrasting colour looks better.
Likely why they had them OEW or possibly "Stone".

Only way to see whats best for "You" is to take a pic, upload it to your computer and play around in paint to see what colours you like best.
You can always post up your renderings on here if you want an opinion on a particular scheme?

The wheels on my mog are silver and I quite like that effect. You will have to fire up photoshop (or gimp just to stop John from having a huff) and try some different colours.

My choice would be Old English White, with silver as a second choice.

Colour is personal and being in the bike trade, I've heard it all (How about a red turbo trainer to match the floor paint in the garage.....only my opnion but that is sad.....logic wouild say have it a different colour in case you fall over it). Let's face it, I think Picasso is a load of crap but some people rave about it.

If it were mine, I would first consider the colour of the car. I don't think steel wheels work well in dark colours. I once had a green Mini (I bought the car for it's general condition, not for the colour) and when I needed tyres for it, I would blast clean and stove enamel some spare wheels and get the tyres put on them. We had some gunmetal grey which was quite a forgiving colour, so far as blimishes were conerned but with a black tyre next to it, it didn't work well (Even with the polished hub cap). However, I wasn't about to do the done wheels over, as the car was a runabout and whilst that didn't mean it didn't look after it, maintain and polish it, it wasn't an ornament. The other Mini was brand new (Again I didn't choose the colour; I had what was available) and the silver wheels looked better.

I think dark centres look OK with polished rims.
