Ouch, judging from the tyre smoke the bloke behind the wheel is used to a car with ABS and didn't take his clog off the locked up brakes to make the turn.
Shame about the car, I suspect that won't be making it back to the road / track.

Eh? He didn't even attempt to turn, see how the wheels are in the straight ahead as he climbs out of the barrier. What a strange mistake for a rally pro to have made. Nice landing though. Do Porsches come with lifeboats?

How many times do you see this happen in rallying?
Had he just released the brakes for a fraction of a second the car would have turned,I appreciate it's difficult when faced with a concrete wall but still got to be worth the risk!!!
Shame he lost it,looked a nice motor.

Would have turned how? There was no lock on and the brakes wouldn't have prevented his applying some. ESP would, but how many rally drivers wouldn't disable that when starting the car?
Maybe he fell asleep at the wheel? :| We'll never know unless his reactions are quicker in water.

He was putting lock on at about 23seconds in,had he released the brakes the car would have turned, admittedly a little too late to make the turn but it wouldn't have ploughed straight on.

Couldn't you hear the Co Driver saying "straight 300 metres" and the driver thinking, "I'm sure that's a concrete wall in 100 metres"... Then... "Oh rats it is"...

Either that or the co driver saying yards and the driver hearing metres.

This was mentioned on TDC forum, apparently, allegedly, the throttle jammed open.
