What are they worth ?

I have health problems both physical and mental. A recent breakdown (again

) means I need to tidy up / simplify my life. I call myself a collector but I now realise I'm a hoarder / suffer from OCD. One thing which I've decided to change is my massive collection of magazines - starting with Practical Classics. I have a full set from first in 1980 to present Febuary 2013 -thats 32 years worth all in good condition

. All bought new by me - originally on day available at newsagents and later by subscription. All additional "specials" etc (not junk mail or calalogues like Frost ) that were included with the magazine have also been kept. There is a lot, - haven't counted them yet, and takes up a lot of space. I'm not willing to split into anything other than selling as a complete collection and will go in eBay idc.
Anybody want to give me an idea what they are worth ? I reckon 32 years worth at say average of 13 issues a year makes at least 400 magazines so at, say, 25p each that is around £100. Is that too low, too dear or about right as a start price ?
Anyone wants to make an offer then my email is -

Firstly, my sympathies, and huge congratulations for having gthe courage to start to deal with the "hoarding" - you are
absolutely doing the right thing IMHO.
Your estimate sounds about right to me, but in your shoes I think I'd try watching/investigating any other similar magazine collections that go up on e-bay and see what these sorts of things go for. I think you will have more luck if you advertise them with some sort of price expectations rather than "sensible offers" as this can often be annoying to potential buyers.
All the very best!

Seconded but it's very easy to hoard (How many magazines help you to do so with binders?). I suppose you can sometimes chuck things and then wish you hadn't; perhaps a pending box might be a better idea than the bin or whatever, where later on you could go through the items selected for diposal and see if you still want to get rid of them

I recently went through the boxes of spares (Some new and some used), that I have for my cars. I'm sure there was a time when I could remember what was in each box (At one time for just one car) but now it's down on paper
On another matter, haven't I come across you on Morris Minor forums, where I have gone under the name of
Blaketon

i sold just over 200 copies on ebay about a year ago,a fair bit of interest and i think sold for £40/£45...dont miss them but did like to flick through every now and again, any magazines i buy now i read from cover to cover and then pass them on to fellow car/bike nuts which means i get to read their mags aswell

Paul - you are in fact My Trebus and I claim my prize! (Full set of PC perhaps?)
That aside, I still have my complete collection of the late and lamented AWoL custom bike magazine and can understand your reluctance to part with a similar collection, so good luck to you.
What I tend to do with PC is have a final flick through and simply cut out the bits I want to keep and put them in a lever arch file, that way about 80% of each issue goes in the bin and my "collection" is only a fith of its potential size.
But I could never do that to AWoL........
