Bee Gees' singer Robin Gibb has died following a lengthy battle with cancer, his family have said.

British-born Gibb, 62, had been battling colon and liver cancer.

Gibb's musical career began when he formed the Bee Gees with his brothers Barry and Maurice in 1958.

The group is among the biggest-selling groups of all time with hits spanning six decades including Stayin' Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Massachusetts and Night Fever.

Strange how both twins died young and the older brother is still going strong. They said it was prostate cancer on the radio, though I know it can spread.

Apparently it's rare for the liver to be the primary cancer, which is maybe why some news groups are saying prostate etc.

But I have had 4 relatives taken by primary liver cancer, so maybe it's not as rare as they think.

Got to feel for Barry and his mum.
He's lost all his brother's (3 now) and his mum has had to bury 3 of her children.

Very wrong somehow.

I've heard other reports since and they haven't mentioned prostate cancer. Maybe they mixed him up with al-Megrahi (As he has also died of cancer - no other reason :!: ). I know of someone, who is now terminally ill with lung cancer, that has spread from prostate cancer (That had been treated), into his skin and then back into his lungs, in a way that means it has fragmented into many clusters. Will they ever find a cure for this vile desease (Or better still find out how to stop it happening) :?:
