Looking at the forecast for Hartlepool
(which is closest to me)
The maximum average temperature for the next 5 days is
about 6 Degrees Centigrade and rain possibly sleet.

Bugger!! No work on the car as it will be too cold and wet!!!!!

Oh and hosepipe bans come in for the South of England too,
you couldn't make this up could you!

I guess there must be a lack of real news that the press think we are capable of understanding.

It's pretty much always changable this time of year.

I still have an old polaroid from May 2nd 1981 of over a foot of snow on top of my Lada estate. Only 3 days earlier I had got sunburn on the backs of my hands while flatting it back for a respray.

Isn't the OP the same person who gave us dire warnings of horrendous winter weather that - according to him - was set worse than even last year's winter and would have had us covered in sheets of ice on a glacial scale by tatie week?
Yeah, I too have seen several forecasts for the coming week, none agreeing with any other and none suggesting more than a dusting of snow on the tops only, nothing of note at anywhere close to sea level.
I remember June, 1975 as there was a fair bit of snow then, and at sea level too. Dad was out mowing our front grass and suddenly stopped the engine to rush into the house for his camera as snow had started falling yet the next year, we had the hottest summer ever.
Snow on the tops and little of it, anyone want a shiny 50p on that?

As I have said before, if you want training to be a politician, join the Met Office.

I forget where I read that the Met Office are only right 50% of the time. Surely sticking your head of the window and saying "it's going to rain tomorrow" is more accurate even if it's july.

Just a bit of lambing snow, seems to happen every year up here. Soon be gone

Oh well, at least we didn't get any in the North East this time around. Pity the poor buggers who had some of the white stuff down in the Midlands though, that looked quite annoying.

We had glorious sunshine down on the South Coast, slightly cooler than the last couple of days, and it did wind my cousin up who lives in the Midlands
