A mate of mine had a 90 MR2 a few years back and I remember him replacing the sills (when it was about 6 yrs old) because they were as rotten as a pig.

Do pigs rot very badly though?
I suppose a dead one would.

I've only ever had dealings with the earlier shape MR2s, maybe the more curvaceous newer ones don't dissolve so rapidly? But as far as I can gather, they're fairly typically Japanese in that they're reliable and are keenly sought after by the modifying fraternity.
Just buy one, you can always worry about the details later!

Never owned one, and have no real desire to either, but my bro in laws ex had an early MK1, and while it ran sweet enough it was rotten, a fate I believe befalls the T tops more as seals go and water manages to get inside.
TBH I could think of much nicer things for a mid life crisis
