On the trabant feature, just thinking how do you mix the oil with the petrol in a car.It not exactly the same as a chainsaw, strimmer etc.

I did buy this months and have to say its streets better than last months. I didn’t buy last months although someone at school had a copy and to be honest it was appalling at best.
I haven’t read it thoroughly yet but the Golf feature;
• The pic shows auxiliary gauges and suggests these were standard – they were not.
• Point two on the main pic – Mk1 golfs never had an idle stabilisation valve these were Mkll only
• A major Achilles heel with any early golf is gearbox weakness.
Pleased to see that over a month my car has increased in value by £2,500

How does that work then? I see from the auction news that one was sold for £6500, this same car, with new roof, is now on sale at a dealers for £12000. That means, potentially, the value of the model has gone from four to twelve grand in weeks

Well done on another excellent issue and special thanks to Mr Thaddeus for his piece on spraying with aerosol cans; a most welcome article that shows it
(rattle) can be done.

The 'very crusty Jaguar 420G' on page 40 is a Daimler Sovereign (re-badged 420), a very different proposition to the 420G. Going by the plate, the red Jaguar is probably a 420G.
On page 42 the 'Morris 18 Norfolk' at the front of the Aust ferry queue is an Austin. It was bleedin' slippery, that jetty, specially if you were on two wheels...
There's another transporter bridge - designed I believe by the same man as the ones in Newport and Bilbao - at Rochefort, near La Rochelle in Western France. It's restored and you can have a joyride across the river Charente, but only if you are walking or cycling.
The Triumph 2000 on page 52 belonged to a friend of mine and actually featured in an important turning point in my life - with the details of which I shall not bore you. It is indeed well cared for, but I never dreamed I would see it again - and chavved-up! (Joke...)

ps: that Princess Special 6 is a nice bit of kit eh? I had an 1800HL and a 2000HL (which was nothing like as good as the earlier one) and my father had an early Austin 2.2.
A few years ago I was driving past a garage forecourt in the middle of nowhere in southern France when I spotted a Princess, parked with the usual Citroens, Pugs, etc.
I nearly ricked my neck...but it wasn't for sale.

I thought the rear diff on the mark 2 escort was a weak point too, but no mention of it in the mag feature.
