It's a S reg escort estate which has just had new discs and pads last week.
It is making loud clicking noises when reversing(unless you have your foot on the brake)
also makes other noises going forward which it made before the disc and pad change.
I try not to touch the escort as it's mothers!
But my friendly mechanic Dean is on holiday till next week, and I will need the car to get
down to the Hull Motor show this sunday.

hi it's most likley to be the pads moving in the pad carrier , did the new pads have a spring clip riveted to them ? latter models had this clip to help prevent pad movement in the carrier , [early and late pads will interchange ] , also is the large anti rattle clip still in the caliper as they can corrode and fall out , i hope this may help

chances are they've not fitted the retaining springs that stop the pads from moving in the calipers. little springy things

i once come across the same problem on a turbo diesel on a w plate,it was the caliper carrier rattling as some rust got trapped during reassembly and the carrier wasnt torqued down properly, therfore knocking under movement
hope this helps
