Well done Jenson.

Like Monaco, this race did have its farcical moments and with all the rules (DRS, tyre options   ), I wonder how long it will be before Grand Prix drivers will have to make a mandatory stop, at a track side Drive thru, for a Big Mac and a Coke (Whether this would be seen as a punishment depends on your point of view) :?: However, that takes away nothing from what I feel is JB's finest drive to date. I admire his easy on the machiney style (Like Clark & Stewart) and he does seem to be a tad calmer than Hamilton. Hamilton may well, ultimately, be the faster driver but like Gilles Villeneuve, I sometimes feel that Hamilton wants too much to lead every lap of every race.

Despite the fractional nature, this was one of the best races I have seen in a long time.

Yeah, that was some race! I almost gave up on it when the coverage on BBC1 was ending and the race still hadn't restarted but thanks to the PVR being clever enough to know when its scheduled recording was changing channels and keeping on with the task, I saw the whole darned lot.
I was all set to celebrate a great second place when Vettel made his error, at that point I may just have yelled "Gerritrightupye!" loudly enough to wake a cat who was named for JB, after his first career podium; Bahrain, 2004. Definitely had the flavour of those first few wins of 2009 about it and we all know how that season was to work out for the bloke.

Star of the race for me was the marshall who fell over during I think the final safety car outing, someone's stuck it on youtube already  Very funny, but a bit sloppy and could've ended badly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-hNRx_EPvI

It reminded me of the Tom Pryce episode.

I think when people moan about the safety car being brought out and how F1 is too 'safe' these days maybe they should remember that- not nice at all and if it happened today on live TV it would probably finish the sport, as a live Sunday afternoon tv show anyway.

I was surprised at those Canadian marshalls though, they did look a bit unfit, I don't know what the rules are but I would have thought there'd be some sort of requirement to be able to run say 50m under a set time while wearing a fire-proof suit and carrying an extinguisher- the one who took a tumble was a right chubber!!

I must admit that I have got bored with F1 over the last three or four years. Perhaps it's the way they keep going on about the "wonder kid" that gets to me! I've always rated Button as a driver and, after seeing him on Top Gear while a Honda driver, I was most pleased for him when he won the championship.

However, I had trouble sleeping last night and the edited version was on TV, so I enjoyed the highlights. It's so nice to see Hamilton is still crashing out after stupid manoeuvres!
