This evening I went to Dumfries to see the cars which had started in Glasgow, stopping at the Dumfries checkpoint outside the Cairndale hotel. Here are a few of the photos I managed to take.

I've just noticed this forum cuts bits off the pics. I should have resized them, but nevermind, they give an idea.

You're using the wrong theme. ;)

Change it to "subsilver2" in your user settings and you'll not only be able to see the whole images, avatars will then appear in the right place, at the left:

There, that's more like the job! :D

Fantastic pictures, especially when you can see them in all their glory. Very atmospheric they are too.

Is that what used to be called the Monte Carlo Challenge :?: I have some VHS of the event in 1991, 92 & 93 (They are still available at http://www.dukevideo.com/Cars/VHS/Rally ... story.aspx). I never tire of them and I'd have liked to have been there to see off the cars. That said, I'd have been wanting to take part. I reckon my choice of car would be an Mini Cooper S, an MGB or a 2 door Morris Minor (With a limited slip diff :!: ). All are essentially good handling cars, not overly complex and easy to get parts for, should the worst happen :!:
