Sunbeam Tiger prices

Why have Sunbeam Tiger prices suddenly shot up, out of reach of mere mortals? It seems Tigers are now a rich man's car and are no longer good value for money. With good ones fetching over £20k (and much more in some cases) it makes cars like the Jensen Interceptor seem a bargain!!

The market is forcing prices up - decent big Healeys are heading for £40k +, Good Daimler SP250 are now over £20K, Nice XK ? £50k +, and most others are following hence the jump in Tiger prices - the Mk 1 Escort prices are typical - any good sporting Mk 1 bringing good money effects the next direct product (known in the property market as the ripple effect) so has Mk 1's went out of buyers budgets - guess what - it drove the mk 2 Escort prices up, then buyers start to look for suitable alternatives such as the Avenger Tiger etc who's prices then start to creep up.

I have noted that the Jowett Jupiter a classic 2 seater sports convertible has taken a leap over the last year or so from £15 - £18k to £25k plus - the market is appealing to investors who are getting nothing for the money in the bank - they may as well use it, have some fun and guess what they still gain some return. Not too sure it will have any positive impact on the sub £5k market though.

The Alpines are following! One of our area members restored his late series five - sold it for about £12k (it was the best i've ever seen) then within 12 months it was at a dealers for £19k! (and this was probably 2 years ago!)

There's hope for my V8 then, though I'm still not selling it :!: I toyed with the idea of a Sunbeam Tiger once.
