Hi,

I'm Asa from West London. I've been reading PC since I was ten (24 now). I drive my first and only car, a 1991 Vauxhall Nova, inherited from my Grandad in 2005. Still runs well and is in pretty good shape, it just passed its MOT earlier today. It's completely original apart from an aftermarket stereo, alarm and immobiliser. I hope to be driving it for many more years yet.

See you around!

Asa

Welcome.

Dont see many Novas around. Is it a GTE or a Sport? You never see a normal one now lol.

Cheers mate,

It's actually a 1.4 Luxe 5dr, so it's not a sports model, but still quite quick with the 1.4 engine. I have put a picture of it as my avatar. You're right about there not being many around, I actually notice when I see another, can't say the same of the later Corsa.

Looks nice and tidy. With the plastic bumpers I was always told to spread smooth peanut butter on them as the oil brings out the original colour. Never tried it but if you fancy it let us know how you get on lol.

Linseed oil works, so I guess that peanut butter should also do the job but it's an expensive way to make your car more attractive to passing dogs.

See this before & after picture of a mate's Peugeot 205 during treatment with linseed oil:

hi,
i'm chris from great yarmouth, norfolk.
been running classics for more years than i care to remember, but in the past year i seem to have changed vehicle every couple of months.
had a ford pop hotrod project on the go for a number of years which i swapped last year for a standard pop on the road, this i ran for about 6 months, then swapped that for a morris minor, roof chopped, seperate chassis, coil over suspension, very very low, with minilite alloys a not much interior!!! standard running gear! a couple of weeks ago i sold this an was on look out for something tax exempt and on the road. i ended up with a hillman superminx. will post some pics up later.

cheers chris.
