Move to rural France, develop an obsession with women's pants & buy a Datsun K10 Micra and you'd be the next best thing.

They are nice cars (A tad heavy for 1250cc - an XPEG conversion could be good) and were the first
production MG to have IFS, the basic design of which went on through the TD, TF, MGA and MGB, not forgetting the replacement for the Y Type, the Z Magnette (A car in my top ten). The shell is based on that of a Morris Eight.
Frank Vauteir had a supercharged version, that used to really move (He was a good driver too); I think the blower was bigger than the engine. These two links may be of interest

As to my own spottage, I spied a red MGA in the car park near the shop, as I set off for home last night.

At VSCC Prescott on 5th August.
Engine of Lea Francis Hyper ( I rather like these very capable cars).
MG M Type Midget (I can never pass by one of these).
An interesting Frazer Nash saloon (With a Lea Francis Hyper opposite).
30/98 Vauxhall.
AC Bristol.
Austin 7 Nippy (An alternative to the M Type Midget in my dream collection).
Rolls Royce "Traveller".....I think the Morris will be cheaper to run.
Blower
Riley RMC (Don't think I've ever seen one.....my father isn't sure if he has ever seen one.....they must have been rare).
Riley RMD (Not sure if I've seen one of these before....it's possible).

Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica. This was in the Bonhams area and it's due to be auctioned next month, with an estimate of £800000 to £1000000. I didn't realise they had gone up that much....my father sold a good one for £795 in 1960. What's the smilie for hanging yourself
Around lunchtime it crapped for a while

. Here is a Bentley (Think it's a 4 1/2).
And MG's answer to the Bentley, the 18/100.
Despite the "Flying pigs", a good day out.

I saw a nice Mk 1 VW Golf GTI last Sunday and a very good looking Mk2 RS2000. I also spotted a Morris Minor 1000, as I left my parents place, at the wheel of the Midget. I took a slight detour, on the way home, so didn't follow it (However the two moderns, that were behind it, were going my way and the jerk, in the 4WD, was on the brakes every 50 yards.....God alone knows why

).
Yesterday, I saw an Austin Maxi. It was on an S plate and was in that pale orange shade, that was popular in the late '70s. I can't remember whether Maxis had Hydragas; it did look a tad low on ride height but otherwise it seemed tidy (As it drove past). Certainly a rare site
