Apart from carrying a couple of exhaust rubbers not as far as I can remember, but the exhaust system would still put some load through it.
I very much doubt that it'll fall off, but have a tendency to replicate any stiffening measures when making replacement parts, as you did with that spare wheel well.

Got a little more done yesterday.

I got a new helper when he heard I had new Donuts!



Luckily I remebered I needed to fit the anti roll bar before the gearbox , so it went in with all its new Superflex bushes



Forgot to take a pic of it in.

That was about it, did not have any time to do more, but did find this, can someone remind me where it goes before I bolt everything in and find it was suposed to go in first!

As you can no doubt see that my man handling has removed some of my nice fresh pain so a touch up is needed. Also the cover blew of in bad weather and there is mud on my nice new black underseal. But I guess no worse than its going to be after driving 10 yards down the road lol!!

So need to put fluids in gearbox, run it up to 5k and tighten the bolts on prop (do I remove the metal bands before or after this now the bolts are in?) attach the brakes and bleed them and attached the clutch pipe and bleed and I can bung the wheels on and go for a spin round the yard!

Funny how a 'built' car is so neat and yet, when in bits, they nearly cover a tennis court....

If it's the Rotoflex-style propshaft joints you're asking about then you take the compressors off as soon as they're fitted but before you torque the bolts up to their final setting as the sleeves must be slack when the bands come off or [the sleeves] will be overstressed in use and would soon split the rubber.

Well maybe you can help a bit more lol!

I got a little more done, connecting cables and pipes etc.

But I am having a mental blank.

Fitting the slave cylinder, but it is missing the clutch fork by 5 mill or so as per picture below.

Now the car was put in netural before the linkage was disconnected. The linkage is still disconnected so the box should be in netural.

So why are the fork and arm not meeting? Does the box need to be in gear? Excuse stupid question but never taken this much off before.

Whether the car is in gear or not is irrelevant - this is the clutch slave cylinder and will work the same whatever gear is selected.

That looks to me like something at the other end of the clutch operating arm has dropped off inside - could be bad news as you will probably have a lot of work to get inside that bell housing.
