Yes that was the MVT stand that I was manning or should that be personing. I did all 3 days plus set up mainly on my own as the weekend also clashes with the Malvern Militaria. The NEC team have asked me to do the Practical Classics show in March 2015. So I probably will. At least I can put my Ford GPW jeep together on the stand.

On the subject of the show, I am getting a bit irritated at everything being metricated. Unless I am mistaken, we use MPH and Miles, not KPH and Kilometres. It is really the only bad thing about the series.

just watched the landrover episode.. very good apart from fuzz spouting nonsense that landrovers start first time every time certainly not the ones ive had the pleasure of driving.. thank god for the proper japanese 4x4

Just seen the Dart episode. Great to see Phil taking an increasingly starring role.

I think the Dart episode was one of the most "emotional" I've seen - I suspect Fuzz had a lump in his throat when he saw how the owner reacted with his car that wasn't just because he loved working on the car.

I was surprised that a Dart had unique manifold studs, but a good storeman can recognise parts under layers of grease, so nice clean ones are easy to idenitify!

I watched the Dart episode last night - I have to say that Fuzz went to the bottom of the class in my book - They had completed the paintwork and he was all over the front wings / front of the car fiiting the oily bits of the master cylinder / servo / steering rack with no protection on the wings / paintwork - ok the paint probably still required a final polish but oily overalls covered in dust and new paint dont really mix that well - it would have taken next to nothing to put a couple of wing covers on the car

A bit of good 'mopping' get's all the marks off the paint. We do use wing covers but the grippy surface can mark the finish. I'm no great fan of the SP250 but the mini hemi does sound the mutts nuts. Fuzz gave me one of those looks when I called it a plastic Alpine!

Plastic TR4 isn't it? I had a ride in one of these back in the '90s when a kitten register fella turned up at a meet in the car on account of his kitten not being ready in time for the run we were doing. The weather was absolutely foul and we got very, very wet as he had the roof down all the way from Doune Motor Museum to the lunch stop at Kenmore House but that soundtrack made the drenching worth taking. Almost. OK it didn't but it was still a very acceptable noise.

I confess that I always hated the looks of the Dart when they came out - and still do! I thought it was a bad looking Alpine - but I always liked the Alpine (at least I did until the Tiger came along - I still lust for one of those!). However, as others say, the noise the Darts make is rather nice
