been working miles from home so spending time in the new truck, & have noticed on the front of the radio (ford 6000cd rds eon) it has a picture of a telephone. does this mean its bluetooth connected & i can use it as a handsfree for the mobile?.... ive tried looking in the handbook but thats for a different radio....

				That depends.
Although all ford stereos from 2005 onwards support the optional Bluetooth module it is not always fitted.
The easy way to find out is press and hold the green button for a few moments and see if says "pairing" on the screen. if it does then you have the Bluetooth module, if it doesn't, you haven't.
I looked at fitting it to my focus and decided it would be cheaper to fit an aftermarket stereo that had a Bluetooth car kit built in as fitting the ford option required replacing part of the loom and the plastic for the interior light as that is where the microphone is fitted.

in 2002 they only had the yes / no buttons fitted to vehicles with the Bluetooth option. As the transit had a cassette player as standard with the CD player as an optional extra, somebody may have fitted a replacement stereo from ebay. That would explain why you have the phone buttons but no Bluetooth module but then again you might have it. Is there a microphone where the interior light is? (round black thing)

you can retrofit the factory kit but it is cheaper (and easier) to replace the stereo with an after market one (which is what I did).

Sorry not to have better news Rich,
From memory my local Ford dealer wanted a few hundred pounds for all the parts then assuming I fitted all the bits myself, an hours labour to turn the options on in the car's BCU (I can't remember which computer the settings are in).
The other option is to spend £80 for a replacement stereo on ebay with a Bluetooth kit built in that you just have to run the microphone somewhere handy. If you want to make it look neat it is possible to use a factory microphone as they have a standard minijack. The factory ford stereo is pretty good as far as factory stereos go but the Sony I replaced it with sounds sooooooo much better and has separate equaliser settings for each input so you can make the radio / cd / mp3 / aux inputs all sound good.
You could keep an eye out for the factory parts on ebay but I am yet to see more than the microphones pop up.
