I'll do a few more in the farm yard before getting new boots put on. It will have to wait until the RR is back on the road as I am keeping money back in case something is majorly wrong.

Added to which if you did do-nuts the underside of the car and wheel arches would have
a layer of burnt rubber to scrap off!

and if one lets go and then there is a possible rim
to fix!
Are you fitting cross-ply or steel belted radials to the mog? (white walls?

)
I called the company that is making a replacement seat cover for the volvo drivers seat as I
hadn't heard from them in a bit. They were trying to contact me but misread the last three
numbers 7's and 1's looking the same depending on who wrote it down. the design pattern of
how it was supposed to look has been lost so I will have to call down Wednesday to sort it out!
I think the vinyl I have bough is the wrong shade it is too light and I don't know where to get
an alternative. But even if it is the wrong shade at least it would be a trial run of how to get
the styling/seam layout right. At least it's only one seat.

I will be replacing my 145 boots with 155s (as 145s seem to be about 3x the price) £38+VAT each from bull motif. I have just discovered the electrician at work used to work for BMC and has a business doing restorations on morris minors so I have spent the last hour talking with him. He is sending me some pics of the projects he has as well as his beautiful blue traveller. I'll post them up for everyone to have a look at when they arrive

The gearbox for my Moke is all done. The block, crank and rods are all machined and the cam bearings have been pressed in. Hopefully the camshaft will be ready to collect today so I can get cracking on assembling the engine this weekend.
I took a week off work last week and managed to service all the classics and do a few jobs. The Beetle now has new front springs and strut inserts. I would have started on the engine if it wasn't for a quick bathroom repaint turning into a three day marathon.

Puncture repair on the Disco. Picked up a couple of nails in the rear nearside tyre. Wouldn't have minded but it's only 1/3rd worn
Wondered why I was losing 10psi in under a week.
Hopefully £25 will keep it air tight until it finally wears out

This weekend I have been rebuilding my Moke's 1275 engine with my son.
It's now bolted to the gearbox. Next weekend we fit the head and clutch, then drop it back in.

Staring at it while it sits forlorn in the garage, with a mere week and a bit to get it sorted ready for Peterborough BL show on the 3rd... No pressure like!
