That equates to 14.4 to 18 mpg in the UK so it does sound a bit ambitious but what the hey, it has this in the dashboard:

I get told that with my RR fairly often. It shuts people up when I pull the brochure out of the glove box with a pic on the cover that matches mine.
Have you looked on howmanyleft to see if there are any registered in the UK?

There won't be any '74's. AMC Jeeps were sold in the UK from '79 to about '83. Then they pulled out and came back in '94 as part of Chrysler.
