"Can you believe that within the programme schedulers listings it is referred to as a documentary? If it was living up to that billing then it would have to show and explain well-researched facts. "

Exposed as what? He's not saying anything that hasn't already been written on half a dozen forums - and mostly with better use of grammar too.
the show that portrayed the restoration of one MGB gathered 1.2Million viewers. If even a fraction of these people end up as classic car owners, then that’ll be a good thing. Until then, I appeal to Channel 5: ‘Enough already!’
Channel 5 would be splitting their sides if they read that. It's a successful format. The guy is giving them even more publicity then asking for it to be axed! I can almost hear the contracts for the next series being signed as we speak.

That Classic Car Rescue are not telling the truth, perhaps?! Or should we say, being economical with it... At least Wheeler Dealers were honest enough to admit it when they bought a pup... Anyhow I was just passing on the info...
As for the rest, someone else makes the good point that the programme will lead the gullible to think that "restoring" classic cars their way is a good way of making money and will lead to a combination of unfinished cars and cars that have been restored badly/dangerously... "All publicity is good publicity" is not always true...

Not for our hobby, but it's plenty good for Channel 5!

Says it all, really! The "series producer" has now pulled out of the debate, I think he was getting a little fed up with the comments!

And for the benefit of non-PC readers, remind us how long it took and how much it cost

That first pic looks like 25% of a jag mk2 shell

I wonder what colour the acid turned after they dipped that.

John asked "who said they were selling them?"
John I was replying to the question above, but I was a little late having missed the other posts in between. I think it would be a fair question though, can you imagine what someone who has never seen the program would say in a few years time having bought the car third hand and them being shown the episode and the jokers who "fixed" it.
